Is it true that in Dickens era Great Britain was still emerging from the tail end of the last ice age and, hence, got more snow than today?
He seems to have grown up during some of the colder winters in England; records aren’t entirely reliable, but many climatologists put the end of the Little Ice Age at roughly 1850.
