The Daily Stream becomes the Daily Scream for spooky season!
My favorite time of year is midautumn, once the weather starts cooling off, through New Year’s, so perhaps no film better fits my mood right now than the absolute delight that is 1993’s musical fantasy comedy The Nightmare Before Christmas. (We talk about clothing being seasonally transitional; is this the only seasonally transitional movie?) It seems the perfect movie to end this run of Daily Scream film recommendations, as we say goodbye to Halloween and begin preparing for the various winter-solstice celebrations on the horizon. Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King and ruler of Halloween Town, keeping the revelry going when he crashes Christmas and makes it his own? Same, dude. Same. (Read my 2000 review.)
