The Daily Stream becomes the Daily Scream for spooky season!
Colin Farrell as a vampire? Hell yes! Movie vampires are so rarely like his anymore: as alluring as he is repellent, equal parts sexy and scary. Even if his name is *snort* Jerry. Gone-too-soon Anton Yelchin is a sweet suburban teen who battles Jerry, his neighbor, with the help of David Tennant — in a hilarious combination of cowardice and panic — as a Criss Angel–esque stage magician who has some unexpected vampire-hunting tips. Plus we get Toni Collette as Yelchin’s awesome mom and Imogen Poots as his awesome girlfriend.
2011’s Fright Night, a terrific remake of the 80s cult classic, is a horror comedy startlingly funny and brutal, often at the same time. It manages to invoke the retro without being cheesy, the amusing without winking at it, and the creepy without being awkward about it. (Read my 2011 review.)

Ah, but is he The Horrible Sexy Vampire? I think not!

(As Robin Bailes notes in the above video review of this Euro-horror, the titular character is neither sexy, horrible, nor a vampire.)
