The Daily Stream becomes the Daily Scream for spooky season!
Meet the unnamed protagonist (Sheila Vand) of 2014’s A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. She haunts the nearly deserted streets of the fictional Iranian town Bad City, dispatching wicked men — particularly men who hurt women — with her bloodsucking fangs and warning little boys to behave themselves, because she’s watching.… Iranian-American filmmaker Ana Lily Amirpour creates an uncanny aura with her debut film, with its gorgeously sinister black-and-white cinematography and a creepy cool engorged with suspense and desire.
