[T]he rapture did not go as planned and we can make Memorial Day BBQ plans after all. One person (among many perhaps) unhappy about this non-event is Tom Evans, aka “PR man for the apocalypse” that wasn’t.
“Of course there’s disappointment,” Evans told CNN, speaking on behalf of himself rather than Family Radio, the organization that set the May 21st date. He goes on, “For us to say it was absolute, I think that’s where we went wrong. That’s where we strayed, and that I would gladly apologize for.”
Evans added that he expects to continue with his job…
Well, of course he does. Because the mainstream media will continue to report on Evans’ clients, such as professional Crazy Old Man/Perverted Coot Who Preys on the Gullible Harold Camping, the Rapture preacher. It’s all part of the he-said/he-said ethos that passes for “balanced journalism” in the United States. Is there seriously an “other side” to the notion that 144,000 of Yahweh’s chosen few will not be transported bodily up to Heaven on a given day? Instead of being laughed out of decent society, such people on the “other side” have a PR machine working for them… a PR machine that actually does manage to get PR. It’s insane. These people should be gently patted on the head and given cookies and blunt plastic scissors for craft time. They should not be given any serious attention at all.
