‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: dating site wants you to check out all the Doctor’s companions… and maybe get a date, I guess?

What the…? I was alerted to a new infographic posted at Geeks of Doom running down all the Doctor’s companions, and I thought, as I always do when someone alerts me to something Doctor Who-ish, that this could be a cool Thing to post. So I check it out, and it’s mildly interesting… and then I note, way down at the bottom of the graphic, this:

Turns out it’s the Online Dating University that is enticing you into their realm by teasing you with this bit of sci-fi geekery.

Think about this. An online dating site is posting stuff about Doctor Who in order to troll for traffic. I know, I know: there’s the old canard about how comic-book-reading, Dungeons-and-Dragons-playing, sci-fi-loving dorks can’t get dates. But still… there’s something particularly hilarious about so blatant a trolling for traffic.
Here’s the infographic. You can click on it to embiggen it… which will take you to the Online Dating University, where it’s hosted. Maybe you’ll get a date for tonight. It is Friday, after all — wouldn’t you like a date for tonight? (It probably won’t be Leela or Tegan, though. Sorry.)
