[Please give me some feedback on my Daily Stream recommendations.]
Seventeen years ago, when 2006’s V for Vendetta was new, it felt like it was set 20 minutes into the future. Today, we are very close to living in its world of autocracy masquerading as democracy, stifled dissent, and a populace cowed by trumped-up threats and long since given up on even attempting to fix any of it. Except we don’t have a figure anything like the trickster V (an incredible performance by Hugo Weaving), part Batman, part Joker, and all wakeup call. We don’t have anyone like that, do we?
