Doctor Who thing of the day: Guinness World Record for a Dalek collection

The just released new edition of the Guinness World Records has a new category — Largest Collection of Daleks — and a new record holder: Rob Hull of Doncaster and his 571 Daleks. Not exactly an invasion force, but impressive, I suppose:
Guinness World Record Dalek collection

Sure, it’s nerdy, but as Metro points out, it’s nerdy with a cause:

Among Mr Hull’s collection of Daleks is a life-sized model that cost him over £2,000.

The extravagant buy has more than earned its keep, managing to raise money for Children in Need by entertaining crowds at supermarkets.

The Sun completely ignores that angle and choses to scream:

I’ve got 571 Daleks but I never watch Dr Who

WACKY Rob Hull has amassed the world’s biggest collection of Dalek toys — but HATES Doctor Who.

Rob, of Doncaster, South Yorks, said: “I’ve never been a fan but I’ve been enchanted by Daleks since I saw one in a toy store as a child.”

I’m not sure how “I’ve never been a fan” becomes “HATES.” Maybe Davros is editing The Sun these days…
