Today’s question comes from Isobel_A:
What do you think is the best thing on TV at the moment, and what is your TV guilty pleasure?
Isobel_A says:
From my perspective, the best thing on TV is undoubtedly The Good Wife. It’s perfect from beginning to end; the acting is wonderful, and the plotting and scripting and casting and everything else is likewise brilliant. I have been known to giggle a little at the end of an episode out of sheer glee because it’s so good. From a (very, I’m-rather-ashamed-of-myself) guilty pleasure point of view: Supernatural. Mostly because every little bit of cultural conditioning I’ve ever had makes me want to marry Dean Winchester and make it all better.
My TV viewing has decreased considerably since I arrived in London in January, so this is a tough one for me. For all the complaining I’ve done about Doctor Who this year, I do think it’s probably the best show on TV at the moment: no other show takes such risks or is anywhere near as inventive. Mad Men is unrivaled as straight-up drama goes. My guilty pleasures are probably Castle and Burn Notice for their sheer goofiness, for the boy-watching — Nathan Fillion in the former and both Bruce Campbell and Jeffrey Donovan in the latter — and for the smart popcorn attitude they share.
You?
