the best photographer you’ve never heard of (and other adventures in social networking)

What my followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ saw today:
• Always love when I get a spam that says, “Please have someone contact me about volume discounts. I am interested in purchasing at least 20 units this week.” Always tempted to respond, “I’ve got a gross of Safe Haven reviews I need to shift. Make me an offer.”

• Part of the problem is that too many people don’t think this is a problem. As the comments following this piece testify. *grrr* Lean into this: Why the gap of women in media is critical to the planet

There’s something creepy about those photos. I seriously expected to see Slender Man in the background.

I can’t help but think that it would have been pretty hard for a woman of the lower-classes (sweat shop worker, nanny) to have gotten any notice at all for her work, no matter how stellar, in the 1950s. She’d have been one of the anonymous women that nobody deigns to even glance at.
