Scottish Borders photo of the day: the last cafe in England…

last cafe in England
…is closed.

(I spent the double-bank-holiday Easter weekend tooling around the Scottish Borders region with my friend Shirley, and I’ll be sharing some of those photos this week and next.)

well, that’s the most obviously werewolf-ridden joint i’ve seen. definitely like the “Titty Twister” in ‘From Dusk till Dawn’, except with werewolves.

The ”last pubs” on either side of the Scottish Border-or, the English Border, as we call it from this side-are about as far removed from the”Titty Twister” as it is possible to imagine. More like the ”Tea and Scone Twister”. Lovely part of the world, though, and inhabited by some of the nicest people you’re likely to meet anywhere on this little Island.

nice, but werewolves. no need to be ashamed. it’s a blessing, not a curse.

I may very well have been in that same cafe. Extremely fond memories of a grilled cheese sandwich.

I suppose the first cafe in scotland would have been serving deep fried cheese sandwiches?

“Welcome to Scotland. You’ll have had your tea, then.”
