I live just down the road from their flagship store and it is wonderful. They have fruit and veg I have never heard of, cow hearts and sheep heads and all the Polish junk food a person could wish for – and pretty cheap.
It’s interesting that the small shops catering largely to immigrants manage to do rather better than the supermarkets which in theory have advantages in terms of transport speed and so on.
All that time in New York and MaryAnn is just now discovering stores that cater to East European immigrants? Will wonders never cease?
It’s a different shape and flavour of community over here, I think.
