Doctor Who thing: Matt Smith’s thank-you message to fans

I guess he’s been overwhelmed by the fan reaction to the news of his departure from the show:

Smith is in Detroit shooting How to Catch a Monster [IMDb], which is written and directed by Ryan Gosling. Even before the announcement of Matt Smith’s departure, there had been some fan speculation online (links for which I can’t find now) that he might be leaving, because his hair — which he shaved off for this role — won’t grow back in time to shoot the Christmas episode. He will be appearing in the Christmas episode, however, so either he’ll have to wear a wig, or the Doctor will have to get a haircut. Or maybe his hair grows really fast…

Looks like he’s got quite the scar running off the front of his scalp. I wonder if that will be employed in his finale.

I’m gonna miss him. *sniffle* I hope Tennant wasn’t just teasing when he offhandedly mentioned that 2015 would mark the tenth anniversary of the new show. :)
