Amsterdam photo of the day: at the flower market

flowermarket

Ken and I kept reading in our guide books and online about the flower market, the flower market. Amazing blooms and it’s all floating on the canal, and we had to see it! And then we realized that, oh, the flower market is that little street of stalls we’d walked down almost every day.

When you’re used to New York and London, you automatically expect everything to be huge. I was imagining a Fulton Fish Market of flowers. But it was just a little street of little shops.

Beautiful Amarylis! Did you buy one? I love forcing them for indoor Winter color.

Couldn’t have taken it home on the plane, so no, I didn’t buy one.
