last-minute Christmas gifts: Cineplexity board game

It’s less than a week till Christmas Eve. You still need something cool for someone special… or maybe you’re just looking to reward yourself with some holiday cheer. Well, never fear: your Auntie Flick Chick is here to help. Sure, you may pay a little more for express shipping, or you may have to actually haul ass to a store, but I’ve got a few things to recommend that will impress. Like this:

Here’s a great party game for movie lovers… even if you only rent one movie a month. In Cineplexity, from Out of the Box Publishing, one player is the “director,” who pulls combinations of “Cineplexity Cards” that contain particular movie elements: genres, settings, props, characters, and so on. The other players compete to be the first to name a movie that, for instance, features both:

• a PROP of a hat or mask, and a CHARACTER who’s either a bad cook or a bad crook
• the GENRE romance, and a SETTING in New York City
• a CRITIQUE of “won an Academy Award,” and an ACTOR known for good looks
• a SCENE in a kitchen, and a PRODUCTION status of having or being a sequel
• and so on.

Play is fast and furious, and a whole lotta fun.

You can buy the game at Amazon (order today for delivery by Christmas Eve!), but it’s also for sale in retail stores including Barnes & Noble, Borders, Target, and others. Visit Out of the Box to locate a retailer near you.
