subscription drive update and testimonial from reader and subscriber Marc

The 321 new subscribers I’m looking for in February is down to 310.

This is hugely disappointing, obviously. Clearly I cannot expect another 39 subscribers to sign up every day for the rest of the month.

Or can I?

More info on the subscription drive.

Reader and subscriber Marc says:

Thank you so much for all the work you put into running and operating the site; I’m not much of a commenter, but I like to hope even the silent majority can send you their appreciation from time to time. As far as I’m concerned, you’re a vital voice on the internet, and even when I disagree with you (or agree with you, for that matter!) you’re always coming from a place of educated and heartfelt opinion.

I’d love to post testimonials from other subscribers. Send them here.

Hi Maryann,
I only very recently discovered your web site, while mooching around various fora following the 50th anniversary. Finding your site gave me a feeling of coming home. I haven’t commented yet, but just to say that your insights are interesting, I very much enjoy your quirky wit and the emotional intelligence you display in your comments. Being a Brit who has lived abroad for half her life – including a few years in the US – I also appreciate your international approach.

BTW, I have signed up for a month, but am happy to sign up for the whole year – although Tinypass doesn’t seem to allow me to do so yet.

Thanks for the kind words. Your monthly sub will auto renew each month. If you want to turn it into an annual sub, you’ll need to cancel the existing one and restart a new one. But monthly is good!
