Sounds like Robocop to me… they’re playing it almost non-stop this month on Universal HD.

I don’t think this is a guess the movie thing, but Wag the Dog would work. I also saw Network for the first time a few weeks ago, and that’s amazingly relevant. Neither of those are twenty years ago, but the point is the same.

Lots of movies work, but I was indeed watching *Robocop* on Universal HD when I was inspired to write this. I can’t believe how fresh the film feels… which is scary.

For a second there, I forgot that you do get UHD, MaryAnn… it’s HDNet Movies you don’t get, right?

Robocop = teh awes0me*
Robocop 2 = meh
Robocop 3 = barf

* The tech is still hopelessly retro… tube TVs, for example… but Boddicker uses something eerily prescient of a DVD to deliver Jones’ message to Bob Morton.

Hey, I just discovered that I get UHD…

And no, I don’t get any HDNet channels. I actually had an email conversation with Mark Cuban — yes, that Mark Cuban — about this, and basically the problem is that my cable company does indeed officially Suck.
