things that are pissing me off today

1) Reader who isn’t a subscriber asking me to do more work so that the stuff he is enjoying for free will be even more useful to him.

2) Commenter who doesn’t “have time” to read through an extensive comments section in which I was an active participant, but expects me to “have time” to respond to numerous demands for more information and more clarification… most (maybe all) of which I had already dealt with in comments.

It seems I’m not giving away enough of my time and effort…

share and enjoy

remarks like these:

“Hate to come off like a freeloader but I’m struggling to eke out a living in journalism. I’m sure you can sympathise :)”
irritate me far more than those who just say, “i can’t afford it, sorry.”
or even “i don’t believe in paying for the internet.” these whining, self deprecating, “we’re all in it together” freeloaders irritate me no end because they self describe themselves as being in the same boat as the host of this site.
you’re “in journalism”? do you tell the NYTimes your sob story? any other web sites? have you been at it 17 years, day in and day out? go away, you freeloader — emotional and financial.

No banana, no dancing monkey. (As I once said to a client who was severely behind with the bills.)
