my week at the movies: ‘Run, Fat Boy Run,’ ‘Son of Rambow,’ ‘Doomsday’

Slow week for me. I’ll try for Son of Rambow [opens limited May 2] again — I was supposed to see it last month, but the screening got cancelled. Then the one I rescheduled for this week got cancelled. Then it got uncancelled. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it stays uncancelled.

On that same day I’ll do a Brit double feature when I revisit Run, Fat Boy, Run [opens wide March 28], which I saw last fall, when it was originally scheduled to open. It stars Simon Pegg and Hank Azaria, so it’s no big chore to see it again.

I’ll probably go so Doomsday when it opens this Friday — it won’t screen for critics before then. I’m sure there’s a good reason for that, but still…
