I already sob my way through this movie. Every. Single. Time.

What a wretched week.

I never saw him in this. And now that I want to, it doesn’t seem to be legally streaming or physically available anywhere. (I’m afraid the $550 “acceptable” used copy on Amazon — a Zone 2 Blu Ray shipping from France, to boot — doesn’t work for me.)

Dammit!

Yeah, same here. I want to see this movie, but it’s not available anywhere. How stupid.

Itʻs at my local library. Try interlibrary loan. 50 cents!
Uh, if you happen to be in the US…

And if it’s still in watchable shape after so many years…

It’s not available for circulation at any of New York’s three library systems. I suppose I could do ILL, but library DVD’s tend to be scratched and sometimes unplayable on my computer.

It’s kind of ridiculous that it’s not available. It’s not THAT old and obscure a film. And even obscure niche-interest artifacts like, say, “Flight of Dragons” ARE available on Amazon, if only as DVD-Rs on demand. Maybe renewed interest in Rickman’s work will mean this film will be easily accessible again soon.

It appears to be available on a popular video website (as you probably know by now). I usually oppose that sort of copyright violation, but when there’s no other reasonable alternative, a case could be made for watching it that way.

Or maybe the renewed focus on Rickman’s career will encourage someone to release a new edition of the movie.

Ahhh! Didn’t even think to check there. Thank you.

I bet there’s some sort of rights issue when it comes to music. This tends to be the sort of thing that holds up wide distribution on home-video channels.
