UPDATE: Just heard about a Friday screening of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (opens in the U.K. on December 21, and in the U.S. on December 23). I figured it would be on Monday at the earliest — go know. So I’ll attend that, and since I’ll already be downtown, there’s no reason not to subject myself to the Morgans movie, especially since the word I’m hearing whispered around should mean I’ll get an awesome review out of it…
This is what happens come mid December: the studios rushed to get all their films in front of critics (and other awards voters) in time for their year-end wrapups, many of which happen before the middle of the month, so I’ve already seen everything I need to see, and almost everything that’s opening between now and the end of the year.
I will miss, this week, the press screening of Did You Hear About the Morgans? — it clashes with the party the Alliance of Women Film Journalists are throwing for our just-announced awards — and I am debating whether to catch it on Friday, when it opens. Really, though, it looks like such crap, and I don’t know if I want to harsh my holiday buzz with it. I’ll let you know, of course, if I do.

We don’t give a shit about “Did You Hear About the Morgans?” Skip the hell out of that turd. Friday would be better spent makin’ merry or deckin’ halls.
Hurt Locker review in your newly spare time! :-)
She would’ve reviewed the Hurt Locker by now if she wanted to. It opened back in June according to IMDB. Maybe there’s to be said about the film.
I meant “Maybe there’s *nothing* to be said about the film.”
Not necessarily true.
There’s definitely plenty to be said about *Hurt Locker,* and I’ll say it soon. It *is* currently my best movie of the year, and I don’t think a rewatching will drop it out of the top 10…
