screencap Friday: what the flick? #119

Friday fun! Here’s a screen capture from a DVD… and just to make things harder for 2010, this one is from a TV show which may or may not be in my collection (it’s sooo much easier to do screengrabs now that Netflix is streaming to my computer). Guess the TV show — you don’t need to guess the episode, just the show — and earn the respect of me and your fellow FlickFilosopher.com readers. One guess per comment — no fair hogging all the guesses.

It’s actually a combination of Duel and the episode of the Incredible Hulk that “borrowed” scenes from Duel, which is why Spielberg has a deal that none of his movies get used as recycled scenes in other people’s works.

Bluejay wins: It’s *The Incredible Hulk.*

Yep, PaulW/Bluejay got it. Sigh. First one of these harder TV ones that I’ve known…

I won?! Wow. That makes my day. :-)

Interesting! I didn’t realize that movie scenes got recycled to be stock footage for TV shows. But if it’s a Hulk/Duel combo, shouldn’t Ash win too?

I found more details here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0610892/ The tricks the Hulk crew used to match the Duel footage are hilarious. But you guys probably already knew that…

It was extremely common at the time. The scene of the flood waters being stopped from engulfing the town from Superman, for instance, was used in three or four TV shows, most cheesily in Knight Rider.
