The fact that Dr Who insipires so many wonderful creative and quirky things in its fans shows just how great a show it is, I think.

i was just reading Walter Jon Williams’ “The Rift” and a whole page or two was devoted to a tug boat captain’s love of Doctor Who. hilarious, unexpected in this otherwise pretty scary and grim book.
…did anyone spot the bathrooms…?
I’m having trouble with these.
I mean, they’re lovely drawing.
And I dig the surrealist nature of them, with the inexplicable topography, and the absurd labels, and the shuttle stops. Would that Inception had included a fraction as much surrealism as these.
And I get that there’s a lot more to the interior of a TARDIS than what we’ve seen. Hence:
2005 and on Who has been pretty stingy with sight-seeing around the TARDIS.
Classic Who had the cloister bells in an actual cloister, miles of corridors (clearly dis-used bits of BBC properties, but fun nonetheless. All that brick work and exposed plumbing!). Workshops, conservatories, an arboretum. Whatever was written in was filmed anywhere convenient with no regard for any sort of continuity of design. Pretty sure there were scenes filmed outdoors that were supposed to be interior (garden) as well. Then the TV movie went for a vaulting gothic cathedral feel.
From the classic series, one got the feeling anything could be in there. This map evokes that (at least IMHO) very well. :)
