Friday fun! Here’s a screen capture from a TV show on DVD. Guess the TV show — you don’t need to guess the episode, just the show. And if you assume it’s something I’ve said I’m watching or said I like, you’re not necessarily on the right track.
NEW! Now with prizes! Guess correctly, and take your pick from among the movie- and TV-related goodies I’ve got lying around and need to get rid of. It doesn’t matter if you’ve won stuff from me before. It doesn’t matter where on the planet you are: I’ll send prizes anywhere (though you’re responsible for any customs or import duties a box of goodie may incur).
One guess per comment — no fair hogging all the guesses. It’s okay to guess again once I tell you you’re wrong.

Withnail and I
I saw the Newcastle bottle and thought “Old School”, but that’s a movie. I guess it might be whatever that withnail thing is, because it’s British TV.
Searching on “Newcastle brown ale” product placement doesn’t turn up much.
Ah well, best go with the old standby.
Nip/Tuck.
All Creatures Great and Small
Withnail & I isn’t TV, it’s a movie.
Hm. Inspector Morse?
No no no.
Well, that’ll be me looking at just the pictures without reading then then. Pity, because I’ve got an idea because of the Newkie Brown bottle an’ all now.
Doctor Who? (Did you use that yet?)
The Young Ones?
Auf Wiedersehen Pet
Rose: the rules also say you can guess again after MaryAnn says you’re wrong.
Dave: I have a feeling all the booze-soaked brit shows are likely to get a mention until someone finds the right one!
Ide – I’m already almost out. My knowledge of 70-80’s british television involving beer isn’t that large strangely enough. I went with Creatures because it had Peter Davison in it figured that made it a leading candidate. Shows what I know.
Hmm. I immediately thought “Newkie Brown”, but now that I look again it might be Amstel. Assuming it is the former though, I’m guessing “Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?”
Nope.
I could give a clue here, based on where you all seem to be going with this, but I won’t. :->
I’ve already done a *Doctor Who* this year, and a *Nip/Tuck.* And I won’t be repeating any shows
The room seems too sparse to be such a recent show, but is it Spaced?
Mad Men?
Watch me make a fool of myself – but that looks American to my British eyes. Twin Peaks?
It reminds me a little of the very first episode of Frasier, where Martin Crane was living in reduced circumstances. That’s not “The Chair” though, so I’m probably wrong again.
It DOES look like a bottle of dog to me…. umm… “Spender”?
Life on Mars?
“EastEnders”?
Cheers
Nope to all.
A little hint: It’s not from a British show.
Is it All in the Family?
Little House on the Prairie?
The Red Green Show?
Rosanne?
Nope.
Quantum Leap?
Out of left field: Lost?
Columbo?
Roseanne
Wow; Roseanne was guessed already. Can’t believe I missed that.
Saved by the Bell: The College Years
Nope.
Here’s another hint: The year the show is set in is not the year in which it was made.
Madmen? Totally on the clue and the fact that it could be a 60’s chair
Cleopatra 2525 for the win!
Happy Days?
That 70’s show?
D’oh missed that Madmen was used already. hmmmm
bump it up bump it up bump it up
Carnivale?
Freaks and Geeks?
It’s not a 60s chair.
When I post today’s new screengrab, this one will end. So there’s just a few more hours to guess!
Here’s another clue: It’s an old show but was only recently released on DVD.
Is it Max Headroom then? Is that the chair the blipvert guy burns up in?
Nope, not *Max.*
Wagon Train?
That 70s Show?
Nope.
The new screencap is up – please put me out of my misery and tell us what show this is from!
My Three Sons?
Ha! I win!
It’s from *Tales of the Gold Monkey.*
And now I can post my review of that (this weekend, hopefully).
