‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: knit your own scarf… just like the Doctor’s

Ever wanted to dress like this?

Now you can, thanks to the insanely detailed instructions for knitting all the scarves Tom Baker wore as the Doctor at Doctor Who: The Scarf.
Need more? The site also includes a history of the scarf, which begins:

When Tom Baker was cast as the Doctor, costume designer James Acheson picked up a load of wool and asked a knitter called Begonia Pope to knit a scarf for Tom. She inadvertently used all the wool Acheson had given her, resulting in a scarf that was some twenty feet long. This unusual scarf was well received by the cast and crew and after being shortened slightly, it was worn by Baker beginning on “Robot.” The pattern for this scarf is shown here. The scarf in its original form was only seen in “Robot” and “The Sontaran Experiment,” which was taped right after Robot. The scarf underwent a series of alterations over the years and other scarves were also worn by Tom in later seasons.

and then continues with “a chronological list of notable ‘scarf events.’”

It’s pretty much a one-stop place for all your Doctor Who scarf needs.
