dream cast: hypothetical live-action ‘ThunderCats’ movie

It’s Thursday, so it’s time to remake an 80s classic TV show or movie with an all-new cast. This week: ThunderCats, the Rankin/Bass animated series that debuted in 1985. There is a CGI-animated flick coming in 2010, but let’s think live-action update. That’s much more fun. (This one was suggested by reader Bill. If you … more…

that “in a world” guy dies

I’ve gotten links to this one from lots of you: Don LaFontaine, voice of movie trailers, has died at the age of 68. Oddly enough, I have absolutely nothing to say about this. Does that make me a bad person? I don’t mean I wished the man ill or anything, but the news of his … more…

to be or not to be: Kevin Kline as Hamlet

To be. Oh yes, definitely to be. ’Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished for, Kevin Kline and the crazy Dane. David Tennant as the Riddler?

As noted by Weimlady in comments, the site IO9 has posted renditions of movie posters by Australian artist Josh McMahon for a hypothetical third Christopher Nolan Batman movie. The hypotheticals? The “movie” stars Marion Cotillard as Catwoman, Kristen Bell as Harley Quinn, and David Tennant as the Riddler. Of course I can’t resist swiping the … more…

dream cast: hypothetical ‘A-Team’ movie

It’s Thursday, so it’s time to remake an 80s classic TV show or movie with an all-new cast. This week: The A-Team, the 1983-7 NBC action series about a group of Vietnam vets who help out folk in trouble. Rumor has it that a movie is already in the works, but that doesn’t mean we … more…
