A rote crime action thriller — very car chase! such gunshots! — that drains its protagonist of much of the raw power that has made her so fascinating in the past.

Ruins itself as even high-toned cinematic junk food when its justifiable cynicism morphs into something manipulative and dangerously disingenuous.

So, if it’s not weird enough that Lisbeth Salander, Hermione Granger, and Bella Swan are sharing a house, look what happens when the Doctor shows up…
