trailer break: ‘Torchwood: Children of Earth’ new extended teaserTake a break from work: watch a TV trailer... Creepy! It’s like Planet of the Damned or something. I always knew the little buggers couldn’t be trusted... Looks like Jack’s gonna die -- again -- and get resurrected. I suppose we had to expect that. What’s the point of having a character you can kill over and over again if you don’t kill him over and over again? End of the world as we know it, and “so far, we’re the only ones with the software clever enough to piece this all together...” Take that, Microsoft! “...outside of Torchwood.” Doh! That’s why Jack gets killed again, isn’t it? Yup:
Wait, is that soldier guy UNIT? Is UNIT trying to kill Jack? Yikes! Oo, and I see some smooching between Jack and Ianto. Excellent. Of course, the Doctor is nowhere to be found through any of this, right? Bastard... Torchwood: Children of Earth will air in the U.S. on BBC America and in the U.K. on BBC One this summer; no airdate has been set yet. It will be released on DVD in Region 2 on July 27 [preorder from Amazon U.K.] and in Region 1 on July 28 [preorder from Amazon U.S.]. Disqus commentsblog comments powered by Disqus |

Actually, there is an air date on BBCA...July 20 thru 25th.

Knowing the way BBCA is (aka Brit-Reality TV, and not having tuned to that station for two years now), they will have the show edited so I'll wait for my Blu-ray discs of the show to watch it.

Torchwood: Children of Earth is also kicking off the debut of BBCA HD.
The timing on the first two Doctor Who specials (including the Christmas one) is June 27 for The Next Doctor and July 26 for Planet of the Dead, both on BBCA.
(Got this info from Mo Ryan, the TV critic for the Chicago Tribune.)

According to IMDB it's airing starting June 15-19 though it doesn't say where that airing is but I imagine it's BBC One. Fingers crossed that's correct because this looks good.

the Doctor is mentioned!
* I have no idea the accuracy of this website, but it was posted MOMENTS after the june 12 preview in London of the first episode of Children of Earth. Where RTD meet with the press and answered questions :)

I was at the preview (after queuing for an hour and a half for a standby ticket) and can confirm that there is a mention of the Doctor in episode 5, according to Russell T Davies. Someone asked in the Q&A how they dealt with the question of why the Doctor just doesn't turn up to save the world, and he said that was dealt with in Gwen's speech.
The first episode is absolutely brilliant, by the way - by far the best Torchwood episode yet! I can't wait to see Day 2 - but no confirmed air date yet, in case ITV find out and schedule something huge opposite to steal the audience. Series 4 is going to entirely depend on how well series
3 is received.
