my weekend at the movies: The Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival at the American Museum of Natural History

I’ll be spending part of Saturday and most of Sunday at The Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival at the American Museum of Natural History here in New York. The festival features films of an anthropological bent, usually documentaries, but not necessarily. Tickets are usually still available at the door; see the full schedule at the festival’s Web site.

Next week, I’ll have my reactions to the festival. Stay tuned…

The MMFVF makes its way to Troy,NY each year in the road version of the festival and I try to cover/review a couple films each time, since they always show some nice, off-the-beaten path documentaries that are a refreshing break from the influx of those about American politics – and some of the stuff is nice and experimental. Hope you had fun!
