How did she (Penny) track him to the island?

Maybe Papa Widmore is the one behind the boat mission. We know from the auction that he has enough money to fund such a mission and that he’s interested in the Black Rock shipwreck. Maybe Penny found out information from him that led her to believe Desmond is on the island. I know this is a flimsy theory. I wish Penny and Desmond could have talked longer. Not only would we have gotten more answers, but we could have spent more time with those two. Henry Ian Cusick is so amazing. Aye, brutha!
