Alliance of Women Film Journalists’ 2008 EDA Awards winners

Last night I was at the little bash the Alliance of Women Film Journalists, of which I am a member, held for our annual EDA Awards at Circa Tabac in Soho. Much boozing, eating, and schmoozing was done by all, including some of our winners, such as Tia Lessen and Carl Deal, whose film Trouble the Water tied for our Best Documentary. There’s something really gratifying about being able to meet filmmakers whose film touched you, and telling them that.

A peek at our winners:

Best Film: Slumdog Millionaire

Best Actress (Tie): Sally Hawkins in Happy-Go-Lucky and Kate Winslet in The Reader and Revolutionary Road

Best Actor: Sean Penn in Milk

Check out the complete list of winners here.
