Friday fun! Here’s a screen capture from one of the DVDs in my collection (and it’s definitely from a movie, not a TV show). Guess the movie for fun and, well, fun. No prizes, just bragging rights. But hey: one guess per comment — no fair hogging all the guesses.

Kill Bill
The Third Man.
Dead Again?
Oohh.. we had some easy ones.. but now I think MAJ is showing us who’s boss.
Ummm.. Some like it Hot,.. just because it looks like it maybe a man in drag.
the hate?
Ed Wood? nah that’s too damn easy…
Mystery Men?
shindler’s list?
American History X?
The Man Who Wasn’t There.
All About Eve?
Pleasantville
Kenny is closest… but still cold.
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert? (Hoping this guess is wrong, because I’ve only read about that movie, and if this is right I’ll feel morally obligated to finally make time to see it.)
Mephisto. (Another film I only heard about but I need to see someday. Apparently there’s a trend here…)
Crying Game?
Still no winners.
Here’s a hint: the film is from the era when many movies were in black and white, not as necessarily an artistic thing (in the same way not NOT making a movie in 3D IMAX today is not necessarily an artistic decision).
I’ll guess Grand Hotel.
I am finding this one particularly frustrating because I KNOW it is a film I have seen, but I cannot get my brain to cooperate. What is it?
Second try: Sunset Blvd. (as in: also by Billy Wilder)
Nope, all wrong.
Since this week’s screencap has already been guessed, I’ll reveal this one: *Strangers on a Train.*
I knew I had seen the film, but now I feel REALLY stupid. For many years much of the imagery in my artwork was derived from stills and frame grabs from Hitchcock films.
