the weirdest thing I’ve seen in Stratford (so far)


I dunno what this Elvis impersonator was doing there on the High Street, but he was kinda cute in a Bruce Campbell kind of way, and he came complete with his own white stretch American limo.

I should have thought to get a picture of him with Nigel

I was in Stratford last weekend. I saw Darth Vadar walking towards me across the bridge by Cox’s Yard. He was in full regalia, including drawn light sabre, and must have been melting in the heat.

There must be something in the water!

Dayum! That’s a nice one! (Then again, I have a soft spot for “Big Elvis,” a performer in Las Vegas, who has to be on the far, far side of 400 pounds…)

The high collar and all, though…this might be some sort of a retro-houpelande. Maybe he’s in a post-Apocalyptic, trans-oceanic, neo-rockabilly version of “Henry V”.
