caption this! image from ‘The Young Victoria’

Fun for Wednesdays! We look at an image from an upcoming movie and write snarky, witty, or otherwise entertaining captions for it. No prizes, it’s just for fun.

The Young Victoria is not amused to be weighed down with such ridiculous baubles:

About the flick:

Emily Blunt delivers an incredibly appealing performance as Queen Victoria in the turbulent first years of her reign. Rupert Friend portrays Prince Albert, the suitor who wins her heart and becomes her partner in one of history’s greatest romances. This love story, set amongst all the intrigue of the court, also features Paul Bettany, Miranda Richardson, Jim Broadbent, Thomas Kretschmann, and Mark Strong.

Miranda Richardson will always be Edmund Blackadder’s Queenie to me.

The Young Victoria is already available on DVD in the U.K.; it opens in the U.S. on December 18.

Visit the film’s IMDB page or official site for more info.

“And then take this end of the curtain rod… and push it into that end… like so… and then you just attach the assembled pole to the wall, take the curtains draped over one’s shoulders and hang them from the pole. Simples!

Here’s one I made earlier.”

“Ceremonial? Why, quite the contrary. We need these to hold the royal person upright whilst wearing the crown.”

The secret of Vicky’s longevity was regular exercise on her custom made Regalia Walker. Perfect for good cardio during those long hours at court, posing for portraits etc

On rainy days, Queen Victoria would often stay inside to partake in a game of “fetch the scepter” with the royal Bill Clinton and George Bush impersonators.
