‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: 42 classic-series Target novelizations for sale on eBay

Many years ago, before DVD, one way to relive old episodes of Doctor Who — if you hadn’t obsessively recorded them when broadcast, like I did — was to read the Target Books novelizations. Nothing to do with the American chain Target, of course: it was an imprint of British publishers W.H. Allen & Co. and later Virgin Books. Fan Tim Neal maintains a comprehensive directory of all the Target Doctor Who books.

Anyway, my friend and reader bronxbee recently decided to clear out her collection of these little treasures, and I’m selling them for her on eBay. There’s 42 of them in all — an auspicious number — and they’re up for grabs in a single lot. Check out the auction here. As of this moment, there’s only one bid at the starting price of $9.99.

The auction ends on November 3, and though I state on the auction page that I won’t ship internationally, I will for a FlickFilosopher.com reader. But the shipping will be very expensive: to the U.K., for instance, around $60. If you really want ’em and are willing to plunk that much down, they’re yours.
