Charles Dickens’ antihero Ebenezer Scrooge, the protagonist of A Christmas Carol, has been played by many, many actors over the course of film and TV history. (See also: PopWatch’s “The 10 greatest Scrooges in film and TV.”) I think Patrick Stewart is my favorite, or maybe Bill Murray; no, wait: Rowan Atkinson.
But there are many, many actors left who have yet to take a turn as the tightest man in Victorian England. What actor who hasn’t already done so should play Ebenezer Scrooge?
I bet Morgan Freeman would be awesome as Scrooge…
