‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: everything you need to know about ‘Doctor Who’ in one infographic

Illustrator Bob Canada has created a beautiful infographic that spells out all the basics about the Doctor(s) and his life and adventures that you need to get started. We all know this stuff already, of course, but it could be a good way to introduce someone to the show who really should be watching:

Canada writes at his blog:

I think this is the first time in my life I’ve ever drawn the TARDIS. It was surprisingly hard! It seems like it would be simple; after all it’s just a blue box with some windows. But there are tons of little details and recessed panels and whatnot, and it took forever to get it all straight.

I think he got it just right. And his caricatures of the Doctors are gorgeous, the best thing about the poster. Like this one:

But perhaps my most favorite bit is some otherwise unextraordinary typography:

Snarky quotation marks? Finally! Another Doctor Who fan who doesn’t believe Susan Foreman was the Doctor’s actual granddaughter.
