Just a reminder that the first London meetup is happening this Saturday, April 2. We’ll gather at 6pm at The Freemasons Arms, a Shepherd Neame pub, at 81-82 Long Acre, in Covent Garden. Yes, Covent Garden can be insane, but this place is off the usual tourist path and should be relatively comfy and cosy. I’ll have a sign saying “Cinemarati” — the pub isn’t enormous, so we should be easy to find.
You can RSVP via Meetup.com — where I’ve launched a group called Cinemarati to organize movie-related get-togethers — or drop a comment here if you think you might stop by, so I know how big a table to save us. I imagine we’ll be at the Arms for several hours at least: they serve pretty good burgers and other yummies there as well as the usual selection of beers, ale, and wines.
Upcoming Cinemarati meetups:
April 9: We’ll go see the new comedy Killing Bono in the West End area and discuss it afterward.
April 24: We’ll attend Sci-Fi-London’s Easter parade along Southbank.
May 8: Another casual get-together to hang out and chat.
I hope lots of you can make one or more of these (looks like there’s a nice group already for Saturday). Stay tuned here and at Cinemarati’s Meetup.com page for more events.
