‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: the Doctor now on Facebook

The Doctor himself isn’t on Facebook — I doubt he has time to update his status when he’s running from Daleks — but Doctor Who the show is. And not just in a fanpage sort of way, either. Now you can watch a small selection of episodes — classic and new — at the BBC’s Doctor Who Facebook page.

Each story costs 15 Facebook credits ($1.50 / £.93, though you can get FB credits cheaper if you buy credits in bulk), which isn’t much. However, if you’re a Netflix customer in the U.S., a much more comprehensive selection of Doctor Who — including all but the very latest episodes of the new series and pretty much all the old shows that are on DVD — are available to stream for free as part of your monthly subscription. (I’d be curious to hear if that’s also the case for Netflix’s streaming customers in Canada.)

Will you be watching the Doctor on Facebook?
