Doctor Who thing of the day: man built a TARDIS for his wife because she said she fancied one

This, my friends, is true love. From the Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

Gary Gibbons built TARDIS for his wife for Christmas

A husband gave his wife a truly timeless gift this Christmas by building her a life-sized replica of Dr Who’s time machine.

Gary Gibbons built a TARDIS for his wife Sandra after she remarked she fancied one in her garden last year.

The sci-fi mad couple, from New Village, Brantham, already have a replica of Dr Who’s fiercest enemy, the Daleks, in their shed and a Storm Troopers outfit from Star Wars in their living room.

Mrs Gibbons, 46, said her husband’s job as an art and design lecturer at Colchester Institute meant he is always looking for projects to work on.

This is the only image accompanying the story:

Which I have to say is an excellent example of local press falling down on the job.

As for Gary Gibbons, however: What a guy.
