If you, like me, are simply exploding with anticipation for Peter Jackson’s Hobbit, here’s a little something to torture you some more: The Hobbit Name Generator. Just plug in your own ordinary muggle moniker and out plunks something like “Esmerelda Brandybuck of Buckland.” (That’s my hobbit name, I’m told.)
There’s also the complementary Elvish Name Generator, whereby I learn that if I were an elf, I would be “Inwë of Dorthonion.”
