Soon as I heard, at some point last year, that Joe Dante had directed a film that was already on DVD in the U.K. [Amazon U.K.] but had never even gotten a theatrical release in North America, I was of course intrigued. I still haven’t had a chance to catch up with it, but I’ll try to soon, because The Hole is finally getting a release in the U.S. An extremely limited release — a few screens around Atlanta and one in Los Angeles, according to the film’s official site — but it’ll be released on DVD next week [Amazon U.S.] [Amazon Canada]. Anyway, the film itself looks like an 80s throwback, which could be good or bad, with Bruce Dern as Doc Brown:
