question of the day: 50 years of Bond, Beatles, and Doctor Who: coincidence or something in the water in early 60s Britain?

50 years of James Bond The Beatles Doctor Who

This year marks the 50th anniversary of James Bond movies and Beatles music. Next year will see the half-century mark for Doctor Who on television. Three huge icons from across the pop culture spectrum were born in the early 1960s in Britain. Is that merely a fluke of fate? Or was there something in the air a generation after World War II that prompted the flowering of a brand of enduring creativity that continues to speak to audiences today?
