London photo of the day: the real London underground

real London underground
A peek into a bit of dug-up street corner in Soho (perhaps to fix those busted pipes?). I’m always drawn to stuff like this in a city such as London (New York, too) that has been built up in layers over centuries. Note the old brick sidewalk in the bottom left corner — that was a good three feet below the current street level. Makes ya wonder what else we might find if we started digging… (Click here for a larger version of the photo.)
