Skyfall is saying something profound to UK audiences (and other adventures in social networking)

What my followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ saw today:
• The NFL thinks it can pretend that betting on football doesn’t happen. Sports journalmalism! NFL censors Bradley Cooper interview over gambling movie

• Yahoo! Sports wants expert, passionate, self-starting (ie: no support from Yahoo!) sports writers, offering to pay next to nothing. This is how journalmalism starts. Yahoo! Sports seeks ‘passionate and even biased’ freelancers

• Whoa. Skyfall is clearly saying something profound to UK audiences. (The film is nowhere near the top of the North American all-time box office.) Skyfall sinks Titanic to become second highest grossing UK box office film

Election fatigue could account for the difference in reaction, that’s all. But I’m American and I liked it, just watched it again this weekend.
