I’ve been posting about this on Facebook and Twitter, to no avail. Time to spread the word here.
I need to find a new place to live in London by the end of January. I’m not kidding when I say I’m on a starving-writer’s budget. A flatshare or lodger situation is what I’m seeking. Housesitting and/or petsitting would work, too. I need to be able to get into the West End area of Central London without too much hassle or too long a commute. I need unlimited broadband so I can work, which is pretty much all I do when I’m home. I don’t smoke, and I’m not a party person. I like pets and they usually like me. I’ve never ever not paid a bill on time in my entire life.
I’m getting pretty desperate. Anyone who knows anyone looking for a clean, quiet lodger or roommate, please let me know.
(What could, alternatively, help: everyone reading this either becoming a subscriber of FlickFilosopher.com or of my new project, Movie Cheat Sheet. Then I wouldn’t be a starving writer anymore.)
Thank you.
UPDATE: Need digs acquired. Alas, it’s not sharing a Baker Street flat with Sherlock Holmes, but it’ll do for now.

I’m on it… just asked a friend in London, she should get back to me soon.
I can’t help you out, since I don’t live in the UK, but good luck to you. And I already subscribe to your site, so I hope others will do so too. Take care.
My only suggestion is spareroom.co.uk, which is set up for flat shares and people looking for lodgers. I could probably help you temporarily if you end up in dire need, but I’m the wrong side of London for you (out past Croydon to the South).
I’ve been using SpareRoom (and MoveFlat, and Gumtree), and in fact via SpareRoom today I found a place.
Someone from the 1950s would no doubt find that quite incredible.
Oops, sorry, wrong thread. I’ll get me coat.
(Congrats on finding somewhere, by the way)

And, my dear–I’m still here
Plush velvet sometimes
Sometimes just pretzels and beer, but I’m here”

Congrats on the new arrangement
