bookstores are getting firebombed in the 21st century (and other adventures in social networking)

What my followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ saw today:
• Bookstores are getting firebombed? In the 21st century? In London? WTF… Yesterday, the historic Freedom Press bookshop in Whitechapel was firebombed by persons unknown. From what anyone can make out, it appears to have been a targeted arson attack – the police are investigating and treating the blaze as suspicious.

• This is outrageous, but not too far off the slut-shaming the Western media puts young female pop stars through… Japanese pop star shaves head in apology – for night with boyfriend

Oh no, Kpop & Jpop go waaaay beyond anything we’ve (so far) seen in the West – for both sexes (genders? I always get confused). Honestly, I don’t know why anyone would want to be an Idol, it’s practically indentured servitude.
