Doctor Who thing: rare 1960s Daleks trading cards for sale on eBay

Doctor Who Dalek sweets cards

This is a mint-condition collection of the trading cards that would have come with the Cadet Sweets candy cigarettes I featured a while back.
There’s still more than a week to go on this auction, with no bids yet.

Someone out there wants these…

(I have nothing to do with this auction, by the way — I just thought these were really cool and unusual.)

Via @EbayWho, which seems to be a good resource for anyone looking to pick up rare or interesting Doctor Who stuff on eBay.

(If you stumble across a cool Doctor Who thing, feel free to email me with a link.)

It will be interesting to see if they can manage a 100 pound bid or higher — eBay is the great leveler; it can get your rare item in front of a lot more eyes and bidders, but it can also render your “rare” item commonplace, dropping the bottom out of the price. I have a Palitoy talking Dalek from the 70s that, pre-eBay, if you could find it, went for $450 at US conventions. Now it seems to be selling for about 50 to 75 pounds on eBay UK. Not that I would ever sell it!
