Lots of videogame and comicbook characters. I did pretty good! True, ‘N’ gave me a bit of a hard time, but in the end I got them all! I think that makes me qualified enough to say the character selection is naff :-/ These are the ABCs for a specific nerd subtype, and I’d say a bit too specific.
I feel pretty good that I got 24 out of 26 on my first round through. Q and R stumped me. But I agree with Mate that it is a list for a few different sets of specific nerddom.

Indeed – visual media of all kinds are a minor thing for me compared with books and non-passive activities like coding and role-playing games.
Since when did being a nerd meant feeding from the pop culture trough.

Napoleon Dynamite
Talk about the odd man out. I never would have guess that!
Could be, could be, but doesn’t Napoleon have curly hair?
Apart from N, Q and U I’m also not familiar with R. Anybody know what R represents?
R is Raiden from the Metal Gear Solid games.
and here is a picture of Napoleon Dynamite where that suit:

The picture would have been clearer if he had curly hair, the curly hair was really iconic for Napoleon
Lost me on N, Q, and U.
Same here, plus X.
Clearly you don’t have the thing for Lucy Lawless that I have for Lucy Lawless. :-)
Q is the Queen of Blades (aka Kerrigan) from StarCraft. U is an Ultramarine from Warhammer 40k. No idea about N though…
Without looking at anyone elses post I got them all except for N,Q,U,and X.
I got them all except “n” I guessed it was for “Nerd”
N. Napolean Dynamite….googled famous nerds and there’s a pic of him in that exact pose
