for everyone wondering where my review of Doctor Who: “The Time of the Doctor” is…

I won’t have it until early January. My best friend is visiting from New York, I haven’t seen her in two years, and I’m not going to spend time working while she’s here. (Those DW blogging posts take many, many hours to create.)

Also: I’ve made myself crazy this year, working very long hours, covering as many movies as I can and offering lots of other content (the Movie Cheat Sheets, the what’s-streaming posts, and more). I’ve done that for tens of thousands of regular readers every week, only a few hundred of which have chosen to financially support the work. That doesn’t make me feel particularly good about working like crazy. I need a break.

So, if you’re a subscriber and you’re wondering where the DW review is: Sorry to make you wait, but my brain is fried and it needs a rest for the good of the review, if not for my brain. If you’re not a subscriber: thank you for your interest, but I’m not a public service. And you won’t have to wait any longer than those readers who are supporting my work.

(By the way, this goes for the new Sherlock coming on New Year’s Day. My review will be along in the week of January 6th.)

Good for you. Burning out doesn’t help anything. Hi to bronxbee!

Just as any other paid professional, you are entitled to regular vacations.

Like all good things, it’ll be worth waiting for.

Enjoy the break.

As I said on Facebook, I don’t mind having to wait, I just appreciate being kept informed so I don’t keep checking over and over again.

I did mention in my “minimal posting” post something about this, too:

I guess most people missed it there.

If anyone really needs a hit of rage-filled reviewing, though, Whovian Feminism’s review is up:

I think the review contains a number of problematic tropes…
